What is the most customizable device you own? Many of us dress our phones with a case that is meant to help it stand out, but we can claim that smart watches have an even higher priority when customizing. Alternative bands offer as much variety as cases on phones make, and are much more visible, always on the screen. Add it a nice Customized clock faceAnd you are well on your way to a one-on-one-type combination box. But even the best strap-and-face combination feels a little inadequate, while checking out what a Redditor pulled off.
Over at the Reddits Galaxy Watch Sub, User Signal Impression-97 shares images of a modified Galaxy Watch 4 It has been hidden in the case of a high-end mechanical clock.
According to the poster, they contacted a watchmaker to help them transform their vision into a reality. Although they do not specifically reveal the donor clock in the post, Google Lens says that this appears to be a Panerai Luminorwith the peculiar protected crown.
That crown is even functional, with signal impression-97 confirming that it works for inputs. Apparently, they went with this particular Galaxy Watch model due to size problems, and started with a 40mm version and drumming down the body to begin with – not something we would recommend any random attempts at. Confusing them repeatedly referred to this as a “classic” edition, although only available in 42mm and 46mm sizes, and there seems to have been no attempt here to preserve the rotating frame – it is probably a misinformation where they believed to communicate that they chose the “basic” model.
The big problem that SmartWatch initially is allegedly size, and our poster claims that it is difficult to find good mechanical watches donor bodies large enough to fit Samsung’s larger Galaxy Watch entries. It sounds reasonable, and we imagine that it was already quite difficult to come up with a combination that works as well as the pairing we see here.
