Anthropic He announced the launch of the web research functionality for Claude on Thursday. The São Francisco -based AI company launched the Artificial Intelligence Chatbot (AI) in March 2023, but so far failed to access the internet to find real -time information and had only to rely on its internal knowledge database. Now this is ready to change, as the company is finally adding capacity to web, mobile and desktop applications. Currently, the functionality is available in view and is used only when Claude considers necessary.

With the web search feature, Claude will now be able to access the internet to look for information about the latest events. Anthropic claimed that the new feature will increase “its accuracy in tasks that benefit from the latest data.” The feature is currently available in visualization for the paid subscribers of the platform in the US. The AI company has said it plans to expand web survey to more countries and the free layer in the future.
To use the feature, users will have to choose the 3.7 Sonnet Claude model there from the Model Picker menu in the text box. They will also have to navigate for profile settings and switch to the web search option. After that, making an appointment about a topic that requires real -time information will trigger the web search functionality. Notably, users cannot manually trigger the feature and Claude will decide whether internet access is required or not.
When Claude shows answers that include web information, it will show built -in quotes to allow users to check the source and dive into the topic. The sources are also displayed at the top of the answer on a suspended menu, as well as in a new box that shows the surveyed consultation, as well as large boxes showing the title URL and the page.
