A little less than a year ago rolled Google automatically generated captions for videos uploaded to Google. This is a feature available for both business and personal Google accounts. It is now expanding this idea by launching a new drive video function.
As of today, Google introduces transcripts To videos uploaded to drive. You can find the feature by clicking Settings in the Video Player and selecting Printing. Clicking on the transcript opens a sidebar next to the video. That sidebar contains oral text, timestics and a search box for you to watch or search for certain moments in a video.
The transcription feature is directly related to captions, so there must be captions in the video to access the feature. If the video does not have captions, you need to create someone. When circling back to the auto-generated captions, you can generate captions by “right-clicking the video in Station> Selecting Managing Caption> Generate Automatic Captions.”
While the rollout starts today, the Tech giant warns that it can take up to 15 days for users to see the feature. This rollout does not come long after the company added the opportunity to roll live captions and translated captions in Google meets.
