Porsche Design Honor Magic 7 RSR Land with nice upgrades

Tl;

  • Porsche Design Honor Magic 7 RSR is an upgraded version of Magic 7 Pro.
  • Unlike previous years’ connection with Porsche, the new Magic 7 RSR has significant upgrades, including a superior telecommunications camera.
  • Unfortunately, it is still wildly overpriced and starts at € 1 799 (~ $ 1,865).

Most of the time, when smartphone manufacturers collaborate with luxury cars, crossover Android -Phone It comes from the partnership is insanely expensive, while it only offers a slightly refined design and maybe a small upgrade. It makes the phone just really appeal to die-hard fans of the two brands.

However, with the new Porsche Design Honor Magic 7 RSR, that is not the case. Yes, in the core the phone is just one HONOR MAGIC 7 PRO With a new design from Porsche Labs, but it actually has a few upgrades that make it much more enticing.

First, the appearance of the phone is obviously different. The camera module and the rear glass have new designs, both inspired by Porsche cars. There is even a “peak line” that goes down the back of the phone, which looks like the iconic hood lines on Porsche sports cars. There are also two new Colorways offered: Provence (shown through this article) and Agate Gray. Long-term Porsche fans will recognize them as original Porsche car colors.

Although there are great changes for Porsche fans, they are not enough to cause everyone who just wants a great phone to raise an eyebrow. Fortunately, that’s where the other upgrades come into play.

Honor reinforced inside the magic 7 RSR considerably. First it comes with an absolute Bonkers 24GB RAM. There is a significant jump over the standard Magic 7 Pro, which comes with 16 GB of RAM at most. It also comes with 1 TB of internal storage, which is no more than you can get from a Magic 7 Pro, but still the top of what almost all smartphone companies offer.

The rear camera is also better in two different ways. The telephoto lens has been upgraded with a larger aperture. It still has the same 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor, but it hits Æ’/1.88, which is significantly larger than the Æ’/2.6 limit of the Magic 7 Pro. According to Honor, this is done to the largest aperture on a telephone lens in the smartphone industry.

Magic 7 RSR has more RAM than anyone wanted to know what to do with and a few nice camera upgrades.

In addition, the autofocus system has been upgraded to a lidar-based product that honors the “Lidar Matrix Autofocus system.” Using lidar over traditional laser autofocus results in sharper focus at faster speeds.

Finally, the software also has some unique adjustments, including some new icon designs. When you combine all this together, Porsche Design Honor Magic 7 RSR is a nice step up over even the most Premium Magic 7 Pro.

Unfortunately, all these upgrades will cost you a pretty crown. Magic 7 RSR costs € 1,799 (~ $ 1,865), and puts it in the same pricelike as a folding phone at level. It may be too much to stomach, but at least you can rest assured that if you do spring for this phone, you don’t just get a Magic 7 Pro with a new layer of paint.
