- Google TV does not support Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, but the options were listed.
- An update has now removed these options from the device.
- The update also seems to have solved some problems.
The Google TV -Stream Supports a variety of audio settings such as Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio are also listed as discovered audio codes, but these two options have not been available since the device was launched in the second half of last year. A new software update has come to the SET-top box, and there is bad news for these loss-free audio formats.
Although Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD were not supported at the launch, it was listed as discovered audio formats kept users hopeful that the support would be added to a future update. Unfortunately, it seems that the opposite happened after the latest update for the device. Google has not revealed what is included in this update, but users notice that the Dolby Truehd and DTS-HD options have been removed.
It is unclear all this update adds, fixes or removes, but Sleuths on Android TV SUBLIDDIT have documented the changes they find. According to these users, it seems that a few fixes have been used as solving a problem with webcam detection and fixing a problem with Dolby Atmos. It also appears that the remote control has been updated to version 1.02.
