  • Verizon increases the prices of its mobile protective accounts by four or more lines.
  • The price will increase by $ 8 in total, making Verizon Protect’s value more questionable.
  • Fortunately, there are alternatives such as AppleCare, Samsung Care, third-party insurance and even a cheaper Verizon-supported alternative for those who know where to look.

Last month, Verizon Hiked prices for family plans with five or more lines. Now it is aimed at customers with Verizon Mobile Protect accounts with multiple devices.

According to one Official Verizon support documentThe cost of Verizon Mobile protects plans with multiple devices with four or more lines will increase by $ 8. However, those with two or three lines will continue to pay the same price.

Here is a quick overview of the new pricing, which comes into force on March 27:

  • 1 line: $ 19
  • 2 lines: $ 38
  • 3 lines: $ 57
  • 4-20 lines: $ 68

This last price increase can make you consider whether Verizon’s insurance is worth it – or whether to switch to an option. The answer will depend on your needs, but in many cases there may be alternatives that provide similar benefits while saving money.

What are your options to Verizon Mobile Protect?

First, it is worth noting that Verizon offers other insurance options in addition to mobile protection, including wireless telephone protection and total equipment coverage. These plans provide many of the same benefits as mobile protection, including:

  • $ 0 deductible for repair of screen and back glass
  • Unlimited claims
  • Coverage for loss, theft and injury with a deductible of $ 99

While all three plans share similar functions, they are different in prices and a few benefits. Here’s a quick comparison:

  • Verizon Mobile Protect: Starting at $ 19 per month for most devices. Includes everything above, plus fast battery replacements, delivery of the same day, data recovery, 24/7 Technical support, digital security and privacy functions, and personal device is refreshed.
  • Verizon Total Equipment coverage: Starts at $ 12.10 per month for most devices (or even less for some). Adds quickly battery replacement, but lack some of Mobile Protect’s premium features.
  • Verizon Phone Protection: Starts at $ 7.95 per month for most devices (or even less for some). Offers the core insurance features listed above, but none of the extra equipment found in the other two plans.

Unless you really need faster battery replacements or Verizon’s accessories such as data alignment and delivery on the same day, switching to Verizon phone protection can save you from $ 10 to $ 30 per month while you still offer important coverage.

There are options outside Verizon too

If you would rather not stick to Verizon’s insurance, you have other options:

  • AppleCare (for iPhones): Starts at $ 7.99 per month or $ 79.99 annually (saves you $ 15.89 per year).
  • Samsung Care Plus (for Samsung devices): Starts at $ 8 per month, but pricing varies from the device.
  • Third -party insurance providers: Progressive, Allstate and Assurion are just three options. The last of these is Verizon’s partner for the plans, although you can expect different prices and features when you sign up directly.

If you want to cut costs, the simplest option is to switch to a lower level Verizon plan and requires minimal effort. You can quickly make the change through the Verizon app or the official site.

Although it is worth comparing Verizon’s plans with third-party options, you will often find similar prices-yourself if third-party providers may have slightly less favorable deductibles and other small differences if you go directly to them.

If you intend to choose insurance outside Verizon, we strongly recommend AppleCare, Samsung Care or a manufacturer -supported program. These options provide repairs directly from the source, which ensures greater reliability.
