Last year’s Xperia 1 We did little to improve the rear camera situation from the previous year. The hardware was mostly identical to Xperia V, but with some quality of life. But a new rumor suggests that the story may be different for Xperia 1 VII.
According to a Weibo -leak (discovered by Smartphone digest), Sony’s next flagship smartphone may include exmor T -sensors for all three rear cameras. This would be a remarkable upgrade from last year’s model that only used an exmor T -sensor for the primary camera. Ultrawide and Tele cameras on Xperia we Used the decades old exmor RS sensors.
If you are not familiar with exmor T, it is Sony’s latest stacked CMOs (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor using 2-layer transistor pixel technology. Compared to Rs, exmor tsi ted noise in shoots with low light and gives the dynamic area a nice boost.
If the rumor is right, it looks like this may be the only big change we see. It is said that Sony will continue with the same sensor sizes, so it will be 52MP (as crops to 48MP and pixel-bins down to 12MP) for the primary camera, 12MP for Ultrawide and 12MP for Teleoto.
Outside of this rumor, it is not yet known much about the Xperia 1 VII. We should find out more information as we get closer to the launch, which Sony has typically stuck with a release in June.
