Android Auto users face an annoying problem. Their phones restart when they try to connect car systems wirelessly using the platform. This problem appears to have appeared after the release of Android Auto Versions 13.4 and 13.5, which have caused a wave of users complaints.
The restarted dilemma
Multiple reports on Reddit Specify that when telephones are wirelessly connected to Android Auto, they often start unexpectedly.
A Reddit user described his experience and said, “As soon as Android Auto Connects, and I try to interact with the screen, Oneplus 12 restarts.”
Another user expressed the frustration: “I have tried everything I can think about, but nothing works. It’s as if I’ve been scammed out of a good feature in my brand new car. “
Many others repeated similar problems with their devices or malfunction when connected to Android Auto wirelessly.
“I have the same problem with EN 2021 Audi Q5 and a OnePlus 12 running AA 13.5. It will only be responsive after I interact with the phone while connected to Android Auto. Otherwise, it is softly restarted and then automatically reconnects. “

Someone else on the forums confirmed the problem and said they had to restart their phones every time they wanted to connect to Android Auto wirelessly. “I have to restart the phone to connect to Android Auto every time I turn off the car or disconnect the phone,” a user wrote.
What can you do?
Although Google has not yet recognized the problem in public, a potential solution can be updated to the latest Android Auto version, 13.7, recently rolled out. If you are still experiencing problems, you can check if an update is available through Google Play Store. In particular, it seems that most complaints are from users running version 13.5.
