WhatsApp is working to add support to share motion photos in chats and channels, according to details shared by a resource tracker. The Meta Property Message Service may soon introduce a feature that allows users to share a brief clip with audio and video recorded by some smartphones by taking a photo. This feature was seen under development in the latest beta version of the Android smartphone application, while iPhone users should eventually see them as live photos on WhatsApp for iOS.

MOVEMENT PHOTOS, appeal Supported in Android smartphones and can be captured through the camera app on selected devices. When taking a picture of motion (or upper shot on pixel phones), the device records a small music video and a little audio, along with a static image. The equivalent of iOS of this resource is known as LIVE PHOTOS.
The resource tracker has been able to activate the feature support, and a screen capture of the upcoming media selector (currently available for beta testers) shows a new icon located in the upper right corner of the pop-up plate, next to the HD button.
When activated, users will be able to send photos of sharing with other Android smartphone users. Currently, these images are shared as static images, but a future version of WhatsApp should allow users to share movies (or live photos in iOS) in chats or channels.
Although moving photo capture is supported only on selected Android smartphones, WhatsApp will allow recipients to see them on an unobstaged device, according to Wabetainfo. This means that WhatsApp will probably include support to view these images on all Android phones, while iOS users can see them as a live photo.
Like other resources that are currently under development, there is no information on when WhatsApp will launch this functionality to the testers. Once ready to test, it should be available for beta testers on Android, before being launched to all users on the stable channel.
