UGREN NEXODE 500W 6-PORT GAN DESKTOP FAST CHARGER REVIEW: A BEAST

I have tested Countless USB-C chargers This year, and although there are many good alternatives, some still have a compromise or two. With one tangled root of protocols and power levelFinding a charger that controls everything optimally is still more difficult than it should be. Trying to match Pixel 9 Pro XLS Finicky 37W PPS requirements, or my portable plug plug that releases the power the moment I want to recharge your mouse, are just two of my last gripes.

In my long search to bypass these constant pets, I have come across another nice entrance to consider for your desktop Uugreen’s Mammoth New Nexode 6-Port 500W. You read it correctly, this thing packs as much power as a washing machine, probably far more than almost someone who realistically needs for everyday charge?

While 500W power sounds tremendously impressive, the prince’s first $ 249 brick can back up the current requirements by burdening absolutely everything I can throw on it? I grabbed my reliable USB charger test equipment and a bunch of things to find out.

Well, the specifications on the back of this breeze look good to begin with. You find USB -current delivery Support at 240W (48V/5A) on the top USB-C port and 100W (20V/5A) on the other four USB-C ports-there are no weak ports here. The entire layout will be at 500W maximum, but you cannot run everything at max at once. Still, there is a lot to charge a few laptops at once, even though I don’t own enough of them to test it.

Even more important is that other important charging protocols are supported despite not being listed on the back. USB PD PPS is the big one here, with tension scaled up to 20V, which is enough to delight the outperier hand set as Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. It would like to charge the iPhone or Galaxy phone you throw on it with maximum power as well. In short: Each gate here is steaky, without low power throws.

Udreen’s 500W Behemoth doesn’t stop there. It supports China’s Universal Fast Charging Specification (UFCS) specification to up to 63W, along with all versions of Qualcomm’s quick charge, which means it can also charge a much wider range of smartphones and tablets. I beat 45W on OnePlus 13 – Not completely oversight, but far faster than the 27W or 18W hat on my other plugs. China’s proprietary standards are not supported here, but the UFC is quickly observed and brings Chinese brands closer to western beams.

You will also find Quick Charge, Samsung, Huawei and Apple Fast Charging Protocols supported on the USB-A port up to 20W, ensuring that Legacy Dings fill up reasonably quickly.

With six ports in total, hot switching is a typical achilles heel, but again the uder handles this well. After a certain study, it appears that the top 240W USB-C and USB-A ports are on their own power rings, with the four 100W USB-C ports that share their own circuits. I don’t have enough laptops that lie around to push the Nexode 6 port to hit the 500W limit. I will probably have to borrow half the office’s laptops to hit that roof. Still, I have no trouble charging a 100W laptop, a 40W tablet and four flagshipsmartphones at the same time -a remarkable, if not quite overkill -forde. Although there are too many ports for hotswap all possible combinations, I saw no current drops when I connected several USB power supply units at the same time – everything seems to be charging as quickly as it can.

Uldreen’s Nexode 6-port 500W Power Brick is the real deal, then, but there are some warnings to consider. It is huge, for one, and measures about 150 x 119 x 61 mm. It’s heavy too. Although this is not a problem for a working drive, it is certainly not a portable traveling companion and can even be too lumpy for a living room layout. You will not put this ingot anywhere or pets can turn it over, even if it claims to have a tip-over detection mechanism to keep current and temperatures that work safely in such an event.

Apart from the pure size and booklet, it is an impressive feature setup. No bright LED light (although perhaps on the light or main switch would be good), comfortably gripping rubber feet, and the detachable wall plug is all nice touches. Perhaps the main disadvantage is that the eye of $ 250 price tag. This is certainly expensive for a charger, even for stationary bound. Satechi 165w ($ 119.99 at Amazon), our current best choice for your desk, costs half as much, but you also get less than half of the power and fewer ports. Fortunately, the Useen has run some discounts, so if you bide your time, you can pick up one for ~ $ 220 (that’s what it is at the time I write this).

I suspect that the Use’s last desk buddy will be overkill for practically everyone, including me. Even with my portable camera, tablet and a couple of phones on the go every day, I still haven’t found that I need so many gates and quite a lot of power at once. Nevertheless, it is undoubtedly the highlight of what USB-C-current can be and solves many of my recurrent pain points with contact with a size that fits everyone. Even for a gadget junkie like me, the Nexode 6-port 500W is more power than I will ever need-but that is also the final answer to my long-lasting USB-C headache, and although $ 250 is a lot of change, it may be the latest desktop charger you need to buy too many, many years to come.
