In Sansan, a small village placed on the right bank of the GERS, one is waiting for the curious of all ages outside of time.
A stop is of essential importance in front of the Romanesque church of Saint-Michel. With her thousand -year -old bell tower and her tiny barbakists, like stone eyes, she seems to look over the village from the ground of the age. The defensive look indicates a fascinating past. She also hides the secrets of a crypt and mysterious burials under her stones. Nothing like the imagination of children and the elderly!

Welcome to the Sansan Paleontological Trail, a route from 1:30 a.m. in the heart of a place listed as a National Geological Torter.
On this three -kilometer long cycle you will experience the incredible epic of Édouard Lartet, a lawyer who is enthusiastic about fossils who have made a number of extraordinary discoveries here. The story began in 1834 with Joseph Debats, a shepherd who bumped into a Molar Molar.
The terrain quickly delivers its treasures: large missing carnivores, amazing chalicothees or even the famous Pliopitèque, a monkey with a removed cousin. The explanatory panels mark the path, like so many windows that are open to the past.
For children, two game books must be downloaded from the Sessan tourist office or before the demolition. The perfect opportunity to put on your hiking shoes, open your eye and be time for a real little paleontologist!
