When we tested Project Indigo Last month we were impressed with that Liveelike picturesBut the app also got the iPhone 16 to get hot and freeze. Indigo is built by two of the creators behind Google’s Pixel Camera app, and now has a fresh update (version 10.2) this week that seems to solve these kinds of problems.
According to the release notes, the indigo update disables super resolution as standard on the iPhone 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, 15 and 15 Plus models. It also fine -tales thermal warnings, so that they only appear when the device reaches a “critical” temperature condition instead of earlier in the overheating process.
Other changes include quality directions for super resolution on several frames in scenes with both bright and low dynamic areas, as well as reduced photography speeds on lower performance units to improve stability. Technical previews are now also disabled while the catch is treating, and the update rounds off with general bug fixes and improvements.

Although the update does not explicitly mention performance or overheating of fixes, many of these adjustments aim to reduce the app’s treatment load and prevent the heat structure that may be the cause of crashes.
There is still no timeline for the Android version of Indigo, but the developers previously confirmed that it is in the works.
