Google’s Android apps are currently in a state of flux, like a wave of Material 3 expressions Wash over them with a coat with the new design language. Google Confirms what we observed before, with users registering for the phone beta starting to see these M3E changes come. The company emphasizes that it is introducing the new look gradually, so do not be surprised if you are in the beta and have not yet noticed anything new – it is on its way; Just hold on.
One of the most obvious fine adjustments there, besides the general embrace of material 3 expression with the large touch-friendly bulbess UI elements, is the new Call pickup control. Instead of discreet buttons to respond or reject, we see the implementation of the new slider interface we have traced in development.
Google says it is trying out this new design after receiving feedback that it was too easy to accidentally reject a conversation you actually wanted to bring with the old system – or perhaps worse, by accident to answer when you didn’t.
The company also points to improvements we can see in the new home. There, Google says it is eliminated to give your conversation log nice visibility with a simple chronological design. And on top, that bar makes favorite contacts easy access without having to dig around the app.
It all sounds pretty good to us, and so far we have been reasonably satisfied with the M3E changes coming to the phone and the rest of Google’s Android software library. However, this is still developing, and Googles take feedback that can lead to further changes down the road.
