There has been some confusion in the world of cryptography to find out if the American Commission for Securities and Exchange (SEC) abandoned its call for Ripple in March 2025.
In a March video, called Crypto in a minuteRipple’s legal director Stuart Alderoty spoke of the case. He said: “I feel good”, while he was thinking about the years of condensed legal battles in 60 seconds.
Alderoty said that not only did the SEC abandoned its call against Ripple, but that it had also abandoned all of its implementing measures against cryptographic societies in the United States, he explained that the SEC finally admitted what Ripple and others had supported for years, that you cannot apply laws without first defining them.
“We have never had clear laws or regulations for crypto in this country,” said Alderoty. “Now we are going to clean the mess, leave the audience rooms and work with the congress to establish smart rules that protect consumers and allow innovation to develop.”
But here is what a former dry lawyer says
However, the former lawyer of the dry James Farrell SHared a different point of view on social networks. He wrote: “The dry has still not abandoned its appeal. The calls of the two parties are still alive (although it has remained) today. ”
What is really going on?
To be clear, although the Call of the SEC was suspended (suspended), it was not officially withdrawn. Ripple and the dry always have active calls before the courts.
The case is not yet completed, but there is more and more hope that clearer cryptography rules will soon be created in the legal team of Ripple American which remains involved in these conversations, aimed at helping to shape fair regulations for industry.
