- Nothing Phone 1 gets a new update with Android 15’s privacy function.
- Other additions include a hotspot boss, an exchange for facial borrowing vibration and the security update in June.
- This may be one of the device’s final functional updates, without any more OS upgrades coming.
Nothing Phone 1 may approach the end of the update life, but it’s not quite done yet. A new software update rolls out that provides one of Android 15’s important features, with a specific tailoring stitch to Nothing’s Ui.
According to a Post on the official Nothing Community ForumThe update introduces privacy space: A new safe area of your phone for sensitive apps and data. You can access it by swiping right in the app drawer and it works just like the feature seen on others Android phoneswhich requires separate authentication and keeps apps isolated from the rest of the system. You can also set another privacy password for both the new privacy space and the existing app closet.
The update also brings a renewed hotspot manager to control connected devices, solves a problem with the GlyPH composing lighting effect, and allows users to disable face -bending vibrations via a new exchange. As expected, Android Security Patch in June 2025 is included, as well as other major corrections.
This may be one of the last feature -rich updates for nothing phone 1. Nothing previously confirmed for Android Authority that the device Don’t get Android 16As it has already received its three promised OS upgrades. Security updates will continue a little longer, but new features are likely to start decreasing without the latest OS support.
Initial user reactions to the nothing post in the comments are mixed. Some eventually celebrated getting private space, while others expressed disappointment over ongoing camera quality problems they had hoped could be addressed in the update.
