Google Pixel 10a Wish List: These are the 5 upgrades I want to see

Over the past few years, we have become accustomed to a fairly reliable formula for Pixel launches. Every fall, Google rolls out its flagships, followed by mid-range pixel a launch a few months later in the spring. Usually, it takes the middle of most of its signals (and all the internals) from the flagships, giving us a great chance to recommend full pixel experience without the full pixel price.

This year but it Pixel 9a tried something new. It picked up the biggest battery on some pixel to date and ditched the iconic camera lab because the big minds on Google found out how to slim everything. The result is a mid-range pixel with its own identity, and it already has me to think about what is next time.

So I thought it seemed like a good time to put together the Google Pixel 10A wish list. Here’s what I want to see from the next generation.

Hey google try glass

The first thing I would like to look out of Pixel 10A is that Google will update the materials. Yes, I appreciate that the current Pixel 9a has an aluminum frame-most of its middle-class rivals sports plastic-but Google’s Google’s front and back panels have long been limp. In fact, I can remember to make jokes about using “3D Thermo -Formed Composite” for the back of Pixel 6A and Pixel 7A, which is more lovingly known as plastic.

So with Google slimming down Pixel 9a to the point where it is no longer divided by a full camera lab, I think it’s time to trench the plastic as well. I mean, samsungs Galaxy A26that costs only $ 300, sets Gorilla Glass Foods Plus On the front and back, which beats Pixel’s Gorilla Glass 3 view every day. Google may not have to go that far because of having to balance a flagship chipset while keeping the costs at bay, but it must be a better solution than plastic.

Pixel 10A’s charging needs an upgrade

Although I appreciate that Pixel 9a packs the largest battery on some pixel so far in 5,100mAh, the extra capacity puts it in a difficult place. On the one hand, the bigger battery is great because it lasts longer and lets me do more with Pixel 9a than I could with Pixel 9 or even Pixel 8a. On the other hand, Google has not upgraded the charging layout on the midranger, so it often feels as if Pixel 9a takes eternal time to get back on its feet.

I would like to see Google upgrade their charging standards when Pixel 10A rolls around. Right now, Pixel 9A tops 23W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging, both of which are good, but not necessarily good. Instead, I would like to see Google take a bit of a step forward, maybe slide to 25W or 27W wired speeds – the latter would match Pixel 9 – and pair it with 10W wireless charging.

Not only will it give the pixel a series of charging speed to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy A devices, but hopefully it will also encourage Google to speed up the flagship pixel that is charged further to distinguish between the two lines. Of course, if Google pushes its possible Pixel 10 Pro XL beyond 45W, we need a new USB-C charger, but that’s a problem for another day.

Add pixel screens, what it is needed

One of my favorite reasons to recommend a Google Pixel a device to family and friends is that it offers most of the flagship experience at a lower price. For the most part, it also includes the complete Gemini experience. When I fired Pixel 9a for the first time, I was glad to see everything from Pixel Studio (who now supports people) to the entire series of calling features and photo editing tools.

However, there is a problem: Pixel 9a skipped Pixel screen images. If you want to review and organize the screens of the most affordable pixel, do it in old-fashioned way-with a folder on Google images. Unfortunately, Pixel 9as 8 GB RAM means it just runs Gemini Nano XXS (extra small), which cannot process image inputs. So no image inputs means no screenshots, and no Pixel screens -app.

However, if Google was to reject Pixel 10A to support Pixel screens, something else must be cut something else on my list. I know it can’t bring everything to the mid -range segment without pushing Pixel 10a just a little too close to the flagship position, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to ask.

Don’t stick to tensor g4 please

Usually, my wish list for a new phone is based on my preferences, but sometimes I let a leak or two affect my suggestions. This next wish is one of these times. We have it previously reported that there is a chance that Google sticks to the Pixel 9th century Tensor g4 The chips for Pixel 10a, and I’m not sure I want it to happen. For me, it would feel like a sign that Google is leaving pixel a series just a little further behind, and stripped just a little value out of the price point for $ 500.

Also, if the leaks about Googles Tensor g5 Is accurate, it’s going to be a very interesting upgrade over Tensor G4. Google is going to stick their CPU cores again and bring radiation tracking features to the GPU, which will make the entire Pixel 10 series more capable of playing. I am aware that there is a chance that such an upgrade will come up with a small price increase for Pixel 10A, but I think it would be worth paying for the daily performance improvements it will provide.

Google’s current buttons are good enough

My last hope for Pixel 10A (although it sounds more dramatic than intended) is that Google should keep its physical changes at a minimum, at least about buttons. Right now it seems that the popular feature is for companies to add a dedicated AI button, like nothing with its Essential key Or Motorola with the AI key on Razr Ultra, and I don’t want that trend to continue. Don’t get me wrong, Motorola’s location to the power button is much more convenient than nothing positioning right below it, but I don’t want Google to get any ideas.

After all, there are already enough gestures and reverse alternatives on the existing pixel machine. I would much rather put up a few different quick -caps and enter each press on the power button to do something different, so a third hardware button would just make life more complicated. So far we haven’t seen anything suggesting that Google wild Add another button to Pixel 10A – at least not until the flagship pixels, but I hope it stays that way.

Will it be a Google Pixel 10A?

If six generations are something to go on, then yes, it will be a pixel 10a. Google started its mid-range series back with Pixel 3A, and it has come as watches every generation since, after most of the design fluctuations and hardware upgrades to the flagship siblings. Recently, however, the Pixel A series has stepped up its game and offers even more value for money, and sometimes earned a stronger recommendation than the Base Pixel model.

With the growing presence, it only makes sense for Google to keep the good times roll. After all, Pixel 9a earned higher grades from us than either iPhone 16e or Galaxy S24 Fe, and the right set of changes would only ensure more success for the colorful midtranger. We also got a glimpse of Pixel 10a’s horse-themed nickname in the same leak where it was suggested that the phone would keep last year’s chipset, so it’s about as close to a guaranteed launch as Google will get.

The biggest question remains about whether it will be a Pixel 10A is when we actually see it. Google changed the massive launch date for Pixel 9a, so it may be even earlier next time. Here’s when the last pixels are launched:

  • Google Pixel 9a: March 19, 2025
  • Google Pixel 8a: May 7, 2024
  • Google Pixel 7a: May 10, 2023

At that speed, we could see Google’s next launch as early as St. Patrick’s Day or as late as Mother’s Day – just time will turn out.

Should you wait for Pixel 10A?

Sometimes, when we publish a rumor about or a wish list, we will debate whether to wait for Next generation. This time, however, it does not make much sense. Since Pixel 9a has only been available for two months, it feels stupid to tell you to sit on your hands and wait almost a full calendar year.

Instead, I would say that if your mid-class phone is on the last legs, or you are looking for a reasonable option for a family member, you should definitely buy Pixel 9a. At the end of my review, I called the best $ 500 phone I have ever used and I stand by the fact. It already has good enough cameras and battery life for almost everyone, and the slim design feels good to slip in and out of a pocket.

Built -in gemini • Incredible camera • Battery all day

All pixel’s essential for less.

Google Pixel 9A brings built -in Gemini, an incredible camera, battery all day and seven years updates for under $ 500.

You can also decide that waiting for the next mid -tone pixel is not for you, in which case I would recommend either Galaxy S24 Fe (552.54 dollars at Amazon). iphone 16e (599 dollars on eBay) instead. The former picks up a third hindquarters, adding tougher Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, and a little faster charging, while the latter, well, falls to just one back camera. Not all bad news with the iPhone 16e still gets Apple Intelligence and the powerful A18 chipset, you just have to adapt to the much less iPhone 12-like body.
