Warm off the heels of the retroid Accessories with two screen for that Gaming handheldsAyaneo has just announced its own full handheld double screen. Called Ayaneo Flip 1s DSIt is the follow -up to last year’s flip 1 DS, with some significant upgrades and much more power than the competition.
Ayaneo Flip 1s DS looks a lot like a Nintendo DS, with two screens in a Nintendo DS-like layout. The larger screen at the top is a massive 7-inch, 144Hz OLED screen. The smaller screen at the bottom is a 4.5-inch IPS LCD panel with 3: 2 ratios, probably the same that was found in Ayaneo Pocket Ace.
Unlike Pocket Ace or Nintendo DS, FLIP 1S DS runs on Windows 11. It is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, which is usually found in premium laptops and ultrabooks. This will make it one of the most powerful gaming handling on the market.
It will have LPDDDR5X RAM and a M.2 2230 track for storage, but Ayaneo has not yet announced the specific configurations. The predecessor came in 16+512 GB, 32 GB+1TB and 64 GB+2TB flavors, so expect something similar to Flip 1S DS. However, storage can be expanded via a microSD card track.
Of course, game handheld is as much about controls as they are performance, and Ayaneo has some major upgrades there as well. This handheld will have medium-sized TMR-electromagnetic joysticks, which are generally considered to be the successors of the hall effect sticks. They all have the same benefits, but tend to cost more. There are also four face buttons, a D-pad, linear hall effect trigger, some shortcut buttons and a small optical finger mouse.
The combination of two screens and a powerful CPU gives Flipp 1’s DS serious potential.
Handheld has two full-function USB-C tracks for fast charging, fast data transfer or peripheral equipment. Ayaneo has not announced charging speeds or battery size from writing, but a device that is this powerful is likely to drain the cell relatively quickly.
We also do not know anything about prices or availability, but considering the specifications, it will be good at the Premium end. As a reference, Flip 1 DS now starts at $ 1139, although Early Bird prints brought the starting price down to $ 739 during the launch campaign. Nevertheless, the combination of two screens, windows and all this extra power provides flipping 1 DS’s serious potential for power users. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks.
