- A few months ago, Google introduced four new votes for AI mode for searching a Google app.
- These voices are rolling out now and are no longer limited to AI mode.
- You can now hear the same voices as you perform a voice search through the microphone icon.
Update: May 27, 2025 (23:15 et): It looks like Google has started rolling out the new space-inspired voices for voting searches that we mentioned in the APK intersection below. Some of our team members already see them in the voting settings, so you may want to check if they are also available on your device.

When we discovered earlier this year that Google planned to add voice search options to AI mode for search, we found that users would have it four different voices to choose from. At that time, the Voice Settings page listed these options such as Jungle, Lime, Royal and Sapphire. However, we later found that the names were changed to something more space -related: Cosmo, Neso, Terra and Cassini. Although these voting options were originally available for AI mode, it seems that these voices will not be limited to that particular function anymore.

In our latest APK interaction of the Google app (version 16.20.48.Sa.arm64 Beta), we have learned that you will also hear the same four voices as you perform a voice search through the microphone icon. This is the case for Pixel Launcher/Widget and for the Google app’s home screen. Previously, this feature used only a single female voice. In the video below you can hear the NESO voice in action.
