Samsung Galaxy S5 was my favorite phone ever, mainly because of removable battery. If I was out all day and ran little on electricity, I just took a reserve from my bag and I was back to 100% in 30 seconds. But there is one thing from the past on the Galaxy S line, along with most other flagships. Getting a new battery for most modern smartphones involves sending it to specialists or using your own hotshot engineering skills.
Although I am not convinced, manufacturers will tell you that non-detachable batteries are better. It is partly about water and dust resistance, partly about building a leaner unit, and partly about performance and safety. Sealed batteries provide larger capacities in tighter rooms and reduce the risk of user errors. But it has also made it more difficult to do basic maintenance when the battery inevitably decreases.
