Mozilla’s pocket is closing, the company said in an ad earlier this week. Mozilla-owned reading-later-later book service will be discontinued in July, and users will have a few months to export their data before being permanently deleted. Some parts of the pocket service will continue to be available through Mozilla Firefox browser, but users who have trusted the social brands will need to look for pocket alternatives when the service closes in the coming weeks.
When will Mozilla turn off her pocket?
A new mozilla support document explains this pocket will be closed on July 8. This means that users have less than two months to continue using the web book service. Pocket will remain accessible to users for three months after that date, but will only allow users to access links that have already been scheduled.
Existing pocket users should export their links marked in the form of a value -separated text file (CSV) before October 8th. Mozilla says she will exclude all user data permanently after October 8, which means that users will not be able to export their data after the deadline. Premium Pocket Subscribers who opted for the Annual Plan will also receive an automatic refund after July 8.
