  • Google Wallet adds support for notifications about nearby.
  • When activated, this feature will provide timely and relevant information about passes when a user approaches an interest.
  • Users will be able to control notifications near passages for passes individually and in general.

While digging yourself into the Google Wallet app In November last yearWe noticed code referring to a new site -based notification feature. This feature will send you information based on your exact location. Google has now officially introduced this feature nearby notifications.

In the course of one Google I/O session This week, the Tech giant announced that it is adding support for alerts nearby. Just as it sounds, this feature aims to notify you of timely and relevant information about relevant passes as you approach a point of interest. This applies to passes such as loyalty cards, offers, boarding cards or tickets.

This feature will not be turned on by default, so you need to activate it before you can start using it. When activated, you will start receiving notifications as in the image above. For example, if you are going to a concert, when your device discovers that you are near the venue, Wallet will send a notice. You will be able to press this notification to be taken directly to your ticket. This way, you do not need to take up your valuable time to open the app and search for the saved passport.

It is important to note that this feature may require developers to specify the geofence positions where the wallet passes can be used. This means that it may not work for all the passes stored in the wallet app right away.

Google Wallet Also adds two new switches to control alerts nearby. The first tilt is located in the passported detail screen and allows you to turn notifications from the passing of or off. This applies to all notifications, including field updates and nearby notifications. In the meantime, the second change can be found in the notifications channel nearby. This change checks if you see alerts nearby in general.

This type of features should make access to passes in the Google Wallet more seamless than before. It is also nice that you have the opportunity to choose which passes use this feature or turn it off completely.
