  • Users start seeing the new Google Account switch in maps on Android.
  • Redesign brings the user interface closer to what you see online.

Since August 2024We have kept track of a new account transition that is developing for Google’s apps. The last time we saw that it was in a APK Demolition It showed that Google was preparing the new user interface for apps such as Keep, Maps and Calendar. Now it looks like some users are finally starting to see the redesign.

On Telegram, a user who goes by XSIR shared the following screenshot of a new account -Switcher design. The Ui, found in the Maps app, seems to match our previous findings, a design similar to the web version. Specifically, you can see a profile picture of the primary account, a greeting, “Manage your Google Account” button and a folding “Switch Account” menu.

It looks like the new account switch has not just rolled out for Xsir. We have seen a handful of other users who have also mentioned the redesigned user interface.

The change has not yet rolled out for our own devices. Which means that we are currently seeing the old version, which includes the profile picture that is to the right of the primary account and the Arrow button, the “Manage Google Account” button under these items, other connected accounts, an “add another account” option and option to “manage accounts to this device.” It is unclear how long it will take before this roll -out becomes widely available.
