Gemini -wish list: These are the features I want to see

I have used Gemini advanced For a while now, and for the most part, I am very excited about it. It significantly accelerates my workflow, whether I need brainstorming help for work or I dive deep into a topic I am currently obsessed with.

But while I find it hugely useful, there is definitely room for improvement. There are features I think I lack when I use Gemini – opportunities that I think will make this already great Ai Chatbot even better. I have compiled a list of five important areas for improvement. Although some may seem ambitious for now, I am optimistic that we will see them implemented eventually.

I depend on many apps daily, and continuously switching between them interferes with my focus and efficiency. Ideally, I see Gemini as a central hub, so I can interact with and retrieve information from my most widely used applications without leaving the Gemini interface.

For example, an integration with a task management -app as a two -yearist would be incredibly useful. I could simply ask Gemini to show my tasks today or all next week. Adding new tasks or resching the overdue directly through Gemini would be a significant time -saving.

Similarly, I will love integration with my money management app. Imagine asking Gemini to draw up my budget, report my expenses to eat this month, or check the balance in the “Travel” category.

Although I still see value in dedicated apps for specific features such as task and cash management, having a central command center such as Gemini that can access data or checking app features through instructions will streamline many daily activities. Gemini is already integrated with Google’s own ecosystem (such as Gmail and maps), and these integrations work reasonably well most of the time. However, the potential for third -party integrations feels largely unused, at least officially.

Gemini’s image generation, driven by Picture 3is impressive. I have experimented with it quite a lot and am generally impressed with the abilities. Sure, some results may look too treated or sometimes turned out to be a little strange, but it is a powerful tool, especially considering its relative news.

However, the editing features leave much to be desired. For example, if I ask Gemini to make a picture of a cat wearing a funny orange hat, it usually delivers. But if I then follow up with a request to change a specific detail – say, change the hat color to Blue – Gemini often regenerates the whole picture.

The cat may now have a blue hat, but its pose, background and other elements often change. Ideally, I should be able to lock the existing image and ask Gemini to change only specific items – such as changing someone’s eye color, adding items to a desk or removing unwanted objects – without affecting the rest of the composition.

I recently moved into a whole new apartment, and furnished it was a challenging process. I ended up creating a 3D model of my apartment using specialized software, decorating it with available furniture benefits and some specific 3D models I managed to download and import.

The final visualization was fantastic, but to achieve it was very time -consuming. I imagine a future where Gemini can dramatically speed up this process. For example, I could upload a floor plan with exact wall measurements, and the Gemini would generate the 3D model. It can then automatically provide the space based on detailed questions. I could specify my preference for bright furniture and a Scandinavian interior design style, and then ask for specific adjustments, such as making the couch larger and L-shaped.

A big obstacle I met was to find 3D models for specific furniture I had bought, which made my manual 3D model less realistic. While models for popular IKEA goods are relatively easy to find, less common pieces are often inaccessible. It would be incredibly useful if Gemini could generate a 3D model from a picture of a specific item and then place it in the 3D apartment model it created. With these opportunities, I could visualize my fully furnished apartment, maybe ten times faster than doing it all manually.

Gemini and Gemini Live can boast support for over 40 languages, which is impressive on paper. However, the quality is not uniform across all supported languages. There is a noticeable difference between using Gemini in English versus Slovenian, my mother tongue.

This difference is especially pronounced with Gemini Live. When I interact with Gemini Live in English, the conversation feels remarkably natural, almost like talking to a person. However, switching to Slovenian significantly degrades the experience. The accent is unnatural and the voice sounds robot, which makes it uncomfortable to use. Consequently, I stick to English for voice interactions.

The text -based chatbot does better in my mother tongue than Gemini Live, but it’s not without quirks. Sometimes, even though I ask a question in Slovenian, Chatbot replies unexplained in English.

I can’t speak for other languages, but I suspect that there is a lot of spanish or French who are probably doing better than Slovenian. I want to be interested in hearing about the experiences of others in the comments.

A basic challenge with Gemini – and most current AI -Chatbots – is their propensity for errors. They can “hallucinated”, which means they generate plausible-sounding but incorrect or fabricated information. Although not constant, these inaccuracies often occur enough to undermine confidence.

Trust is crucial. Knowing from experience that Gemini can provide misleading or direct false information makes me skeptical of all responses. This skepticism is particularly problematic when seeking information on critical topics such as legal, medical or financial conditions, as confirming accuracy is difficult and the effort is high. For this reason, it is not yet smart to rely solely on chatbot advice for such sensitive areas, although I hope this will change soon.

I look forward to a future where hallucinations are significantly reduced, if not eliminated, so users can rely on the vast majority of Gemini’s production. Imagine receiving a reliable preliminary medical assessment based on symptoms or accurate legal pointers who save you for an initial consultation fee. It requires a level of reliability we have not yet reached. I understand that this will take time when Google continues to limit the AI ​​technology, but it is a decisive step. Make it happen, Google.
