  • Meta has introduced new color and lens options for its Ray-Ban Meta-Smart glasses, and expanded the Skyler frame lineup.
  • The glasses now support wider access to live translation, Instagram messages and music apps across several countries.
  • A new “Live AI” feature lets the glasses understand what you are watching and answering in real time.

Meta Has announced a comprehensive update for its Ray-Ban Meta-smart glasses, brings new frame styles, extended AI functions and wider accessibility in several markets. The update follows increasing interest in the deviceWhich quietly has become one of the more popular attempts at mainstream smart glasses.

The glasses now come in new cloud frames and lens options, including a chalk-gray model with color-changing transition lenses, as well as a more classic black variant available with either green or clear lenses. These new styles aim to expand the appeal to the glasses, which have already been praised for mixing Ray-Ban’s iconic designs with smart functionality.

On the software side, the most remarkable announcement is the broader release of Meta’s live translation feature. Previously available in limited regions, it now supports real -time conversations in English, French, Italian and Spanish across all supported markets. If you have downloaded the language packages in advance, the function without Wi-Fi or mobile data works. Users hear a translation through the glasses, and the other person can watch a live transcription on the phone screen.

Meta also adds deeper integration with Instagram. Users will soon be able to send and receive direct messages, voice and video calls, and share photos from Instagram using voice commands. These will, with existing support for WhatsApp, Messenger and Native SMS on the iPhone and Android.

Music support is also expanded beyond the United States and Canada. Meta says that users in several countries can now use the glasses to play music from Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music and Shazam, as long as their system language is set to English. You can also ask Meta AI to identify songs or provide more information about what you are listening to.

More AI in your life

Another key feature is a smarter Meta AI assistant who can “see” what you see. Meta says the glasses will soon support natural conversations where AI continuously analyzes the surroundings through the built -in camera. For example, Meta says that the glasses will soon be able to suggest ingredients if you cook and go low on something, or recommend a wine based on what it looks on your shelf. This conversation mode comes first to the United States and Canada and does not require users to continue to say “Hi Meta” after the first command.

Meta also confirmed that the AI assistant is being expanded to several EU countries starting this week, with real-time object recognition rolling out throughout the region. When it comes to new markets, Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are on the field to launch in Mexico, India and the UAE significant steps that meta aims to make their smart glasses a real global product.

However, the growing list of functions also raises questions about data privacy. While the meta gives the camera and continuous visual functions as powerful tools, it remains vague about how these visual data are used. When previously asked about Meta AI is training on user pictures or videos, the company declined to give a clear answer.

In any case, Meta’s latest upgrades position their smart glasses as more than just a news. With the development of software, expanded AI features and wider global access, the glasses begin to look like a more compelling everyday buddy – even though they still come up with the type of data vital questions we all grown a bit to ignore.
