Asus Gaming V16 It is part of a new formation of the Taiwan manufacturer, made for those who want a decent laptop for games with a limited budget. The V16 game features a slender and discreet design. The laptop weighs less than 2 kg, making it a portable enough to go through your backpack. It is equipped with the latest Intel Core CPU and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU that is powerful enough to run most games.
The laptop has a starting price of RS. 82,990 for the base variant, which receives the Intel Core 5 210h CPU. Meanwhile, the Intel Core 7 240h processor variant costs lol. 92,990. Both variants receive 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU with 6 GB video RAM. Is Asus Gaming V16 a good option for budget players? Read to find out.
Asus Gaming V16 Design: Simple
- Dimensions – 35.70 x 25.07 x 1.80 ~ 2.20 cm
- Weight – 1.95 kg
- Colors – Black
Asus has kept the design of the V16 game very simple. There are no RGB lights or sophisticated logos, suggesting that it is a laptop for games. The lid has a matte finish, is prone to fingerprints and has an Asus logo.
The background houses -double speakers
Due to the construction of plastic, you will find that the lid and lower cover flex a little, but everything is guaranteed to be durable. According to Asus, the laptop meets the Mil-STD 810h military standards and underwent several tests. The hinge also looks like it won’t give up on you and allows you to open the lid with a hand.
There is a single USB port type a 3.2 on the right side
You will find a textured finish on the sides and the bottom of the laptop, which keeps fingerprints away. The background also houses the dubbed speakers, large rubber feet and fan cutouts.
The left houses most ports
As for connectivity, the V16 game offers a HDMI 2.1 port, a USB Type-A 3.2 port, a Type-C 3.2 USB and a 3.5 mm audio connector on the left side, along with a proprietary power connector. The right side of the laptop features another USB Type-A 3.2 port.
The laptop features large escape doors on the back
The laptop does not receive a lan door, which is something players can find discouraging.
Asus Gaming V16 Display: Good enough
- Size and Type – FHD+ 16 inch IPS panel
- Update Rate – 144Hz
- Brightness – 300 Nits
The 16 -inch laptop IPS screen offers a ratio of 16:10 with a resolution of 1920 x 1200p. The screen has an anti-ensened coating and a 89 %screen / body ratio. It also offers an update rate of 144Hz, which is excellent when games. The 16:10 proportion is also good when working or browsing the web.
The screen receives an anti-enseaded coating
The brightness is well in closed environments, but I recommend not using the outdoor laptop, as the 300 Nits are almost enough. The screen also features soft colors, and although it’s okay to watch content and play, it’s not great for video editing or photo. You can improve color breeding a little by choosing a different profile available in Myasus software.
Asus Gaming V16 keyboard, touchpad, speakers and webcam
- Keyboard – Full size keyboard with numpad, single color light
- Touchpad – Large size, multi -the intelligent gesture support
- High -Speakers – Double Drivers With Dirac Adjustment
- Webcam – 1080p FHD with privacy shutter
ASUS equates the V16 game with a full size keyboard, complete with a numeric keyboard and a full function line. The keyboard presents what Asus calls “Turbo Blue” background light, which is adjustable and sufficiently bright for night use. Although I personally liked the blue background light, it may not please everyone. Asus should at least offer the ability to change color, as most competitors do.
The laptop receives a full -size keyboard with numpad
In addition, arrow keys and keys A, A, S and D have translucent caps, allowing more blue light to shine. The keyboard is good to type, has a good spacing and offers 1.7 mm of travel.
The Great TouchPad supports intelligent gestures
It’s unusual to see a big touchpad on a game laptop, but I’m glad Asus offers one with the game V16. The great Ergosense Touchpad supports various touches gestures, but also offers intelligent gestures that allow you to adjust brightness, volume and more. Although it does not have a glass coating, the surface is smooth and also has a hydrophobic coating. The clicks are fine, as are feedback.
Descendant speakers have no low
You get double speakers down on the laptop and are decent. The speakers are not too high, and there is very little to almost no bass. However, the sound is clear and does not break, even in total volume. When playing or watching movies, it is better to use headphones.
Laptop offers a privacy shutter for Webcam
Webcam in the laptop is nothing to brag about either. It is the usual 1080p camera found on most Windows laptops and does the job. The image is granulated in most lighting conditions. Asus offers a physical privacy shutter, which is good.
Software Asus Gaming V16: Basic
- OS – Windows 11 Home
- Additional Software – Myasus, Screenxpert 3.0
The laptop runs Windows 11 Home and has some Asus tools, such as Myasus and Screenxpert 3.0. A co -pilot key is available on the keyboard, which you can use to access Ai Chatbot.
You have access to Microsoft’s Copilot Chatbot on the laptop
The Myasus app allows you to customize the laptop to your taste. You can check hardware problems, solve problems, check battery health, change performance/fan profiles, and adjust screen color. Unfortunately, there are no AI tools, such as the effects of Microsoft Studio.
Asus Gaming V16 Performance: Intermediate interval
- CPU – Even Intel Core 7 240h
- RAM – 16GB DDR5
- Storage – 512 GB PCIE 4.0 SSD Storage
- GPU – NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4050 6 GB VRAM (70W TDP)
Reaching the performance, the Gaming V16 unit we received for review was equipped with the Intel Core 5 210h processor. There is also a variant with the Intel Core 7 240h chipset. However, RAM and storage are limited to 16 GB of DDR5 and 512 GB PCIE 4.0. Both are expandable, however, although 16 GB of RAM is good enough to perform most tasks, it is better to update the storage, as 512 GB will end in a short time if you want to install and play many games.
GPU GEFORCE RTX 4050 has a maximum TDP of 70W
The laptop performs well without much delay when used regularly. However, I noticed some hiccups when performing reference tools. Talking about benchmarks, I ran some of them and below are the results.
Benchmarks | Asus Gaming V16 |
---|---|
Geekbench single | 2,413 |
Geekbench Multi | 9,349 |
PCMark 10 | 6,801 |
Geekbench Ai CPU (Onnx) | 3,631 (quantized) |
Geekbench Ai DirectML (Onnx) | 9,618 (quantized) |
3dmark steel nomad | 1,557 |
3dmark time spy | 7,445 |
The Asus Gaming V16 performed very well in benchmarks, especially when it comes to GPU scores. The GPU GeForce RTX 4050 in the laptop is covered in the 70W TDP, which is not the largest amount of energy, which shows in demanding games. I played the new Indiana Jones and the large circle in the laptop, and even with the activated DLSS and the graphics defined as low/medium, the game delivered only 30 to 40 fps. However, less demanding titles, such as Forza Horizon 4, performed better on the laptop, providing more than 70 FPS.
In terms of heat management, the laptop did a decent job. Double fans helped keep most of the heat away from me, but the top of the keyboard got hot while playing and performing benchmarks.
Asus Gaming V16 Battery: Impressive
- Capacity – 63Wh
- Charger – AC 150W adapter
While the performance was not impressed, the battery life did. The Intel Core 5 210h chipset is efficient and, along with the 63Wh battery, you can expect the laptop to last between 6 and 7 hours and even more if you just use it to browse the web. This is not something you would expect from a laptop to games.
The laptop comes with a 150W charger
Asus groups a robust 150W charger with the laptop that can completely load the laptop in less than 2 hours. You can also load the laptop using the Type C USB port, but it’s not so fast.
Asus Gaming V16 Verdict
Asus Gaming V16 is a good purchase for those who venture into the games world, but not if you are an experienced player. If you have a limited budget and do not make many games, this can be a good option. It has a portable design with decent compilation, a 16 inch high update screen, a good keyboard and excellent battery life. And for those short play or work sessions, you have GPU GeForce RTX 4050. At a starting price of RS. 82,990, the V16 game must certainly be on your list of budget games.
