  • Circular’s upcoming smart ring, The Circular Ring 2, will get blood pressure tracking via an OTA update in late 2025.
  • The ring is also expected to introduce non-invasive blood sugar trend tracking at the end of 2026.
  • Circular Ring 2 is available for pre -order at Kickstarter for $ 239, with no extra subscription fee.

The smart The market is evolving rapidly, with players like Oura sets the standard and tech giants that Samsung entering the battle with Galaxy Ring. Now the circular category is pushing ahead with bold new claims about its latest laptop, Circular Ring 2, to be launched later this year.

The company recently opened advance orders for Circular Ring 2 on Kickstarter, and surpassed the $ 1 million mark in mortgages. In addition to this milestone, Circular has announced two large health features that come to the unit after launch: Blood pressure (BP) and blood sugar (BG) trend tracking. These additions, which arrive via over-the-AIR (OTA) updates in the end of 2025 and 2026, respectively, can expand the smart rings significantly are capable of.

A smart ring that traces blood pressure?

Monitoring of blood pressure in the wearables has been a difficult challenge, with most units dependent on photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors, which can cause estimates but lack precision. Circular claims that it has found a more accurate approach by combining electrocardiograms (ECG) and PPG sensors. The circular ring 2 will use heart rate time (PTT) – the time it takes for blood to travel through the arteries – to estimate blood pressure beaches.

Users will reportedly take fast measurements that last between 30 seconds to two minutes, providing insight into how daily habits such as diet, exercise and stress affect blood pressure. This feature is expected to roll out via an OTA update by the end of 2025.

Non-invasive tracking of blood sugar

Perhaps even more ambitious is Circular’s plan to introduce blood sugar trend tracking through a software update in late 2026. The company states that the approach depends on analyzing how light interacts with blood using PPG sensors combined with machine learning algorithms. This will enable users to track glucose fluctuations over time without fingersticks or continuous glucose monitors (CGM).

However, Circular recognizes that this feature will not replace medical quality glucose monitoring, especially for people with diabetes. Instead, it aims to provide trend insight to help users understand how factors such as diet, sleep and exercise affect the glucose level. The company proposes to take readings at consistent times, for example after waking up, to track long -term patterns.

The promised tomorrow

While these features sound promising on paper, there is always a level of skepticism when it comes to promised future updates. Many companies have made bold claims lately, just to come to short or delay important functions indefinitely. Consumers should be careful about buying a product based on what it can offer the line instead of what it can do when launching. Although circular succeed in implementing BP and BG tracking on the circular ring 2, their real reliability will have to be examined.

That said, even the outlook for such functions are remarkable. No mainstream smartwatch – not even Apple Watch or Pixel Watch – offers blood pressure or glucose trend tracking, making Circular’s claims stand out in an increasingly competitive market.
