- Fitbit tests a “personal sleep plan” feature.
- After responding to surveys throughout the day, the feature will suggest bedtime and waking up times for optimal sleep.
- Users will take a survey in the morning, three a day and a final at night.
Last year we discovered a fitbit feature that would give a Personal sleep summary intended to help users get better sleep. At that time, this feature was still in the first days of development. Now it seems that the development has come a long way enough that Fitbit is finally ready to start letting some users test it out.
according to 9to5googleUsers begin to see “personalized sleep plan” in Fitbit Labs. The feature is said to map “your energy levels several times daily to analyze your answers and give an evening sleep plan.” It will then suggest “bedtime and waking times to help you get the optimal amount of sleep to meet your needs for the next day.” To get the best results, it recommends completing as many of the daily surveys as possible.
During the day you will be served a total of five optional surveys. A survey is for your morning check (available until the next three are available during the day and allow you to assess the energy level. The final survey (available before 2 p.m.
After completing the check -in survey in the evening, you will receive your personal sleep plan. When you create your sleep plan, the feature takes into account “your current sleep debt and sleep needs.” This sleep plan tells you the optimal times to lay down and wake up so you get the amount of sleep you need.
Before you can start using this feature, you must satisfy a few requirements. First you must be 18 years of age or older, stay in the US, be signed on your Google account and use Fitbit App on Android in English. You also need to review and accept the lab-specific consent form and have an offer to join the personal sleep planning laboratory in the app.
