What is a lunar eclipse?
A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is limited between the sun and the moon and projects its shadow onto the moon. In order to speak of a lunar eclipse, two conditions must be met: the phenomenon must take place when the moon is full and if the sun, the earth and the moon are aligned. In 2025, two lunar eclipses have to take place: this Friday, March 14th and on September 7th.
In this solar eclipse, the moon will not really disappear. Immersed in the shadows of the earth, it is adorned due to the refraction of sunlight in the earthly atmosphere with a reddish copper tone. In contrast to solar eclipses, no devices must be required to observe the phenomenon.
How do you observe the phenomenon?
In France, the curious could unfortunately only be satisfied with crumbs … The first phases of this solar eclipse can be observed very early in the morning, provided the sky is clear. It will be necessary to contact the west at a location on the horizon clear and for a good reason: the moon will be particularly low.
