I still have a great concern for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Leaked rendering.

Samsung’s next folding phones will be here before you know it, and the last few days have given us a much better idea of what they will look like. A couple of weeks ago, We saw leaked reproductions of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. This year’s Fold looks particularly impressive, designating significantly larger screens and a much thinner design. But the new Flip model left much to be wanted.

The first flip 7 renders showed a phone that resembled the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Besides a slightly larger cover screen, it seemed almost identical to last year’s phone. However, more significant changes seem to be waiting. Updated reproductions of flip 7 Have appeared, this time a motorola razr-like cover screen that takes over the entire front of the phone. It is a much better design and what type of hardware change I hoped to see.

However, there is still something I am concerned about. As good as this new cover screen is, it will only do something if Samsung finally gets the software in shape.

What do you think of Z Flip’s Cover Screen software?

Samsung’s cover screen software must be overhauled

Since Samsung expanded the Z Flip’s Cover screen with Galaxy Z Flip 5, the company’s approach to the research screen software has been … Interesting.

On the one hand, parts of it work pretty well. There is a decent selection of first -party widgets you can add to your home screens, and they are all well designed and have good customization options. I also love how customizable the different clock faces are, and there is easy access to your notifications and quick settings. If all this is good, what is it to complain about?

While Z Flips cover screen is great for checking the weather or looking at your calendar, things quickly fall apart the other you want to use one app. It is technically possible, but Samsung makes it an annoying experience.

Z Flip 5 and Flip 6 support technical apps on the cover screen out of the box, but only after digging deep into the “Advanced Features” section in the settings and activating it. And even then, just a selected handful of compatible – including Google Maps, messages, WhatsApp, YouTube and Netflix. That’s it.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Good Lock App -Sugate

If you want to use some apps beyond these, jump through an absurd number of braces. Samsung requires you download the good locking appInstall the Multistar module and press half a dozen more switches before you can run other apps on the research screen.

Unless you know exactly where to look for these things, there is no way you will be able to find them on your own. Samsung never explains how this works or that there is even an alternative. It took me forever to figure out how to set up Mulitstar on the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and while I recently set up a Z Flip 6 for my mom, I had to look up a tutorial to remind myself of the exact steps. And I’ve written about phones for over a decade! For the average user, this option is as good as non -existent.

You can tell that Samsung’s software is not properly optimized for running tire screen.

And even when you have Multistar in progress, you can tell that Samsung’s software is not properly optimized to run the Cover screens. You cannot add new apps or re -order the setup from the cover screen; You need to open your phone to do it. Nor is anything called multitasking from the cover screen. Do you want to quickly switch between a pair of apps? You need to go home, go back to the Multistar widget and then select the app you want. Every. Single. Time.

Everything about this experience is bad. It is not well explained, there are far too many steps involved, and-self when you make everything work-do not feel the end result well. Samsung improves drastic cover screen is an excellent step in the right direction, but if the company puts us through the same software hell for a year, what is the point?

It doesn’t have to be like that

Motorola Razr Plus Folded App Sugate

Making things all the more frustrating is that we know it doesn’t have to be that way. How did? Motorola has proven in recent years that cover screen software does not need to be so complicated.

Toe Motorola Razr (2024) As an example. It can also run apps on the cover screen, and they are ready to use without any extra layout. Just go to the apps widget on the cover screen and select the app you want. You can also add new apps and arrange your order without opening your phone.

It is clearly a better way to approach tire screen.

Do you want to multitask on the cover screen? Have it! You can multitask on the research screen and quickly switch between apps that you would do on the inner screen. Motorola treats the cover screen more like a miniature Android phone, while Samsung’s cover screen feels like a smart urge onset you can hack to run Android apps.

It is clearly a better way to approach tire screen. Motorolas Razr phones are proof of it, and I do not understand why Samsung has stayed with his half-baked approach over the last two years when there are more intuitive alternatives.

Z Flip 7 is the perfect opportunity to fix this

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 reproduces 1

Provided that this larger and redesigned cover screen for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is real, it will give Samsung a perfect opportunity to do this for the year it addresses the software shortages. If Samsung is going to give us more properties on research screen – and one of the larger Z flip redesigns yet – there is no reason why it has no room for the improved tire hardware with the software it deserves.

Is that the only change I want to see? No. I hope Samsung’s larger cover screen also has a higher resolution, more brightness and a faster update frequency – areas where Motorola’s Razr phones have had an advantage over the last two years. However, fixing the software experience is at the top of my wish list, and it should be at the top of Samsung’s task list as well.
