- Nintendo Switch 2 has been detected on FCC’s database.
- The entry confirms that the device will support the NFC and keep the door open to Amiibo support.
- The next generation console will also support Wi-Fi 6.
It feels so long ago since Nintendo quietly dropped the first look the trailer for Switch 2. Despite that, the console is still heavily on everyone’s mind. But if you are hungry for several Switch 2 news, you don’t have to wait for Nintendo. The console stopped by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and submissions confirm some of the system’s specifications.
Discovered by Guardianthe submissions in database Reveal Nintendo Switch 2 Sports Model Number Bee-001. The Bee part of the designation refers to the switch 2 and the accessories, while 001 refers to the console. According to the pattern, the left Joy-Con is called Bee-012, the Right Joy-Con is Bee-014, and the relay box is Bee-053.

Next time we have confirmation that the system will have NFC support. The documents go even further to specify that RFID is in the right Joy-Con, just like in the original. It has not yet been confirmed whether the switch 2 will support amiibos, but this confirmation will at least keep the door open to that opportunity.
When it comes to connection, it looks like Wi-Fi gets a super mushroom-like lift. The switch 2 is upgraded to support Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with up to 80MHz bandwidth. In comparison, the original switch supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac).
It was revealed in the First Look trailer that Switch 2 would have two USB-C ports, one on top and the other on the bottom. Leaks have suggested that you will be able to use both for charging, but now these submissions confirm that this will be the case.

Finally, it is revealed that the switch 2 is rated to 15V and the AC adapter goes up to 20V. However, it is unclear whether the switch 2 will charge faster than its predecessor.
There is still much we do not yet know about the next generation unit such as price, release date and launch games. However, Nintendo has a direct planned for April 2, where we will probably learn more about what we can expect.
