- A raid of Android Authority has discovered a new user interface for the “Show Details” page in Google messages.
- This option usually shows up when you postpone a message and gives you more information about it.
- The new user interface will provide you with more detailed information about the message and recipients.
Google messages have received many adjustments and additions in the last couple of years, from messages to yourself Gemini Integration and beyond. Now it looks like the company overhaul of a key menu to be much more useful.

We dug into a fresh Google Messages Beta (Messages.android_20250223_01_rc00.phone.openbeta_dynamic) and discovered that Google overhaul of “Display Details” page. This option pops up when you back on a message and give you more information about the missive.
The current user interface (seen in the first picture below) shows very basic information at the time it was sent and received, the sender and the recipient’s telephone numbers, and whether it was an SMS or RCS message. However, we were able to activate the new user interface, and there is a massive upgrade over the old one. The new interface now shows the relevant message in the top half, along with any emoji reactions on it. Meanwhile, the lower half of the menu now gives you richer information about the sender and receiver (eg contact name and profile picture). The menu also uses reading receipts to distinguish between who read the message and who has only received it. It also looks like this works for group chats.
Interestingly, this new “Show Details” menu will also contain the original message if you look at an answer. Furthermore, you can press a contact’s profile image from this menu to get three quick actions (conversation, text, see profile info). Check out the screen below.

This is definitely a welcome overhaul, as it makes the “viewing details” side far more useful. So we keep our fingers crossing that users will get this change before rather than later.
