Fabien Devilliers (24) and Alexandra Garric (23) are designers from Zeus apphone. The duo creates more electric arches that make music. As one of the rare French people who tame lightning, the two students explain their approach.
In the apartment of Fabien Devilliers and Alexandra Garric, the ideas merge. Next to your front door on the left is her work space, in which all your scientific concepts are brought to life. In this 12 m2, Fabien, 24, designs products that can create electrical arches and music.
Passion for science since adolescence, the student in Master 2 electrical engineering at Paul Sabatier University Says that everything started with the film “The Sorcier Apprentice” by Jon Turteltub: “I found it impossible to flash to do it”. In view of this achievement, the student begins to produce his own machines. Once in higher studies, he decided with his partner Alexandra to convert his passion into an entrepreneurial project.
The rare “zeusaphonists” French
Today the well -known company asOzone coil Offers light and sound shows. “It is the Lightnings that we create that make music, the Americans call it” The Zeus apphone “,” explains Fabien. “It refers to Zeus, the god of lightning,” he adds.
To create its electrical arches, the student uses Tesla coils. These antennas, which are loaded by electricity, generate electrical discharges: “Discharge is only a TAC, but by varying the frequency per second we create a musical note,” we decipher Fabien. whole melody “.
Even if the duo claims that its company is still in the “establishment” phase, it had the opportunity to expose events that bring more than 400 people together. He also rubbed his shoulders Famous French Youtubers like Squeezie And Michou, the time of a direct on the digital Twitch platform. “The most difficult part is that we trust,” says Fabien. “If we say that we make electric arches, people are quickly afraid, but when the exhibitions go, we start to democratize.”

To attract more, Alexandra takes care of the image of machines and communication. With Fabien, she even offers to personalize the scenography. “Some people just want to drive a product or bring public benefits in a kind of electrical baptism,” says the student. “Not everyone likes the very electronic or very punk appearance of the machines, so we harmonize structures, the music style … Sometimes we make remixes with their playback list”.
Deliberately of the youngest to “tame” electricity
In addition to the coils of Tesla, Fabien and Alexandra also work on less impressive, but as interesting concepts such as electrostatic devices and flash detectors. An initiative that the couple uses primarily for educational purposes with young people and that it wants to develop more: “We want to raise awareness of other generations of questions related to electricity, consumption, production and diversity.”
For this purpose, the two students have already created educational instruments such as electrical frescoes and are currently developing a mechanical engineering kit for music.
Present on social networksFabien and Alexandra meet at their next light show, which will take place on March 4, 2025 in the interference hall in Balma-Gramont, for the Clutch show Toulouse.
