How to use notebooklm to increase my productivity

I have used AI to get help with different tasks, both for work and my personal life. Gemini is my ai chatbot of selected, after switching to it from Chatgpt. I use Premium (officially called advanced) version and find it useful to find typos in my writing, understand certain topics in more detail and much more.

I heard good things about Googles Notebooklm But never tried it. Since Gemini can analyze files, I figured I didn’t need another AI tool for it. But I decided to try it anyway, and I’m glad I did it – Notebooklm has proven to be extremely valuable to me.

I recently bought a new apartment, which involved a lot of paperwork. It includes a document with details about the entire project, the purchase agreement and many others. It was well over 100 pages to read and sign.

I still refer to the documents to check things, as my memory is not always the best. For example, to double -check structural details and fixtures included, for example, I had to go through many documents before I found the answer. Thanks to Notebooklm, those days are over.

I created a new notebook in Notebooklm and added all the documents related to my purchase. When I have a question, I write it in and get the answer in seconds. It works well, although sometimes a more detailed guide text is needed to get accurate information. It is still better than a manual search.

But this is not my only case for Notebooklm. I also use it at work, and it saves me lots of time. For example, we have many guidelines by Android Authority Regarding formats for different types of articles, among other things, just to ensure that everyone is on the same page. It’s easy to forget things, so uploading all the Notebooklm guidelines lets me get the information I need by asking a question, and saving me time that I otherwise spent searching for the correct section in a specific document.

I also started using it for product manuals, an idea I got from my colleague Andy, who Recently wrote a post about it. This solves two problems. First, I never need to search for a manual, as those I need are in notebooklm. Second, the answer to any problem is just a quick away. We all know how difficult it is to troubleshoot a problem by searching through a 300-page manual. Notebooklm solves this for me.

I am also registering in a new bank account that includes travel insurance, and since insurance companies can be a bit sketchy with their terms, I use Notebooklm for help. It really helps me find answers to my questions about what the insurance actually covers and what is excluded, which is not easy to do in a long document that is full of legal Lingo – check the screen above.

Of course, that’s just my case. There are many others. It is great for the students, as they can create notebooks with textbooks and class notes and then find answers quickly. Lawyers can create notebooks with specific laws they need to refer to frequently, and doctors can use them also to help when needed. It is useful for many professions.

So while I was a little skeptical about Notebooklm to begin with, I’m glad I gave it a real shot page. It really increases my productivity, so I can do more in a shorter time. And that’s the whole point of AI for me personally – to help me be organized and speed up things.

Technically, yes. Gemini can analyze documents and find answers to your questions. This feature was only available as part of the advanced subscription but is now Rolls out to free users also. I tested it out recently And was impressed.

Notebooklm is actually run by Gemini, so the two have a similar skill set in this area. However, Notebooklm is better suited for this task, as that is what it is primarily designed for – while Gemini has broader applications. It is easier to organize notes in Notebooklm and find what you are looking for the page you do not need to browse different non -related chats like in Gemini. AI Chatbot also has a 10 files upload limit, while Notebooklm’s limit is much higher at 50 per notebook for a free account.

Notebooklm also has other features that provide the experience. The first is podcasts. The tool can create a podcast with two people discussing the theme of your files in a fun and interesting way – it’s less boring than reading the files. It is very good, although it tends to hype things. For example, I created a podcast about my new apartment, and it was a little exaggerated when I discussed construction and how each detail is thoughtful. It made it sound like it was this super -luxury complex, as it is not.

You can also customize the answers from Notebooklm by choosing between an analysis, a guide or creating a custom tone. In addition, you can choose between a shorter or longer response, although these features are part of the Notebooklm Plus subscription plan. Then there is the opportunity to create an orientation document or a study guide with a single click of a button.

While I had some problems With specific AI features offered by Google, Notebooklm does what it should. And we are still early in development, so I’m curious to see how much better it can be.
