- Google Store is working on an upcoming “your devices” view to manage hardware.
- The site will summarize purchase details, including warranty information.
- While Google will try to automatically track previous purchases, you can always manually add more devices.
Android users may run all Google’s operating system, but just a subgroup of us chooses to do so with Google’s own hardware. Whether we are talking about Pixel phonesA Google TV steamer, or the second Audio speakers, are many good reasons to go with Google devices, including early access to the latest new features and software update support. And in the near future, it seems that Google can give those of us who have invested in their product ecosystem a new way to keep track of all our equipment.
The Google seems to be preparing a new “your devices” section, as revealed through the publication of an early support page (via Android -Police). While the actual devices page Google links to are not yet live, the company offers us a preview of what we can expect from the description:
On your devices you will be able to find details about your teams of Google products, including model information, purchases and warranty information and IMEI or serial number. You can also go to your devices to manage the related subscriptions, start repairs, find device -specific help and contact support.
It looks like Google will try to automatically fill the list with your previous purchases and devices it knows are connected to your account. For products that Google is unable to connect in this way, your devices will offer a tool to add new devices manually by entering IMEI or serial number. The company offers a heads-up that you probably need to jump through the extra hoop with accessories such as pixel buds that you bought outside the Google Store.
If you are just a kind of Google Glutton and have so much hardware that you can’t keep track of it all yourself with this new tool – well, don’t worry, because your devices also let you play that list down, remove hardware that you don’t Longer use.
It remains to be seen exactly what kind of tools we will come out of this page, but the idea sounds appealing enough: Everything we are made by Google Stuff, and all the information we need to know about it, all in a spot. Hopefully the Google switch tilts on this soon, so we actually have a chance to try it out.
