The home feed for YouTube music The app now looks a little different for Android users. An update has rolled out that changes how “Ask Music” appears in the app.
Discovered by 9to5googleThe old “ask for music in any way you want” card used to appear just below the “radios for you” carousel is now also a carousel. This update introduces an “Ash for Music” carousel that shows 10 different examples of questions. These questions include: Deep-Voice singers, new releases, chillwave, British rock classics, intense orchestral music, deep cuts, indie rock, Baroque pop, minimalist electronic and morning routine. Choosing one of the sample questions will start the AI-generated custom radio/playlist.
Under Ash about a music carousel, you now find a “ask in a way you want” the text box with a microphon icon on the right. Tapping in this field will get the full screen chat -user interface and keyboard. If you use your voice rather than printing text, you can press the microphone icon.
YouTube music is available on both Android and iOS, but it looks like this change has just come to the Android app. Ask music is currently available for Premium subscribers in the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
