YouTube TV may lose Paramount content (Update: The Agreement reached)

Update: February 17, 2025 (12:50 AM ET): Google revealed last week that YouTube TV could lose the Paramount content when the two companies failed to reach agreement. Google then said it reached a “short -term expansion” with the content provider pending negotiations on a long -term agreement.

Fortunately, there is now some good news. Google has confirmed That an agreement has reached to continue carrying Paramount on YouTube TV.

“With this deal, YouTube TV will continue to offer 100+ channels and additions, including Paramount Plus with Showtime and will enable more user choices in the future,” the company explained on the blog.

Google confirmed in a Blog post that youtube TV may lose content from Paramount After today (February 13) that the two companies have not been able to reach an agreement so far.

“We have worked hard to get to a fair deal with Paramount that allows us to keep their channels, including CBS and CBS Sports, on YouTube -TV without transferring extra costs to our subscribers,” the company explained. “Unfortunately, despite our good beliefs, we haven’t had success yet.”

This will affect both base and Spanish YouTube -TV plans. Check out the entire list of affected channels below:

“We are still actively negotiating with Paramount and will keep you updated on our progress,” Google explained. “If we cannot reach agreement and their content is not available for an extended period of time, we will offer subscribers a credit of $ 8.”

The company instructed users to register for Paramount Plus if they still wanted to see Paramount content after the expiry of the agreement. This service happens to have a start price of $ 7.99 a month.

This would not be the first time the content was dropped from YouTube TV after Google publicly gave a warning. In 2021 the company revealed that it was Unable to renew an agreement with DisneyWhich caused Disney content (including Disney Channel and ESPN) to be dropped from the streaming service.
