It’s been a few months to be a Samsung fan. From a hardware perspective, things are a bit of silence. Flagship as Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy S25 Ultra are technically superb, but they are extremely safe and minor upgrades from the predecessors.
If that is the case, Samsung will probably do more interesting things with software, right? That’s! The company introduced a bunch of new Galaxy AI features with the Galaxy S25 series, and its last A Ui 7 Update is one of the most significant visual updates we have seen in many years.
There is only one problem. Samsung’s software rolling efficiency has Neset. As strong of an update as a Ui 7 is, Samsung takes eternal time to get the update in people’s hands. It is a problem that has been going on for months and is only getting worse. It all brings up reminders of Samsung from a few years ago, and it’s not a version of the company I care to remember.

The long, infinite road to a Ui 7

Robert Triggs / Android Authority
To put things nicely, Samsung’s One Ui 7 rollout has been a mess. Android 15 was officially released for Pixel phones on October 15, and based on previous UI releases, it was when we expected One Ui 7 Beta to release. But that’s not how it worked. October went and nothing happened. November too. It wasn’t until December 5 that Samsung launched its UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series -almost two months after Android 15 -figure roll -out.
What has happened since then? Samsung released two more beta updates in December and January, and January 22 saw a Ui 7 its full release along with Galaxy S25 series. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra are the only Samsung phones with a stable UI 7 update. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 series is stuck on a public beta without official word from Samsung about when the final update will be ready.
Samsung’s One Ui 7 rollout has been incredibly messy, and it just gets worse.
After that, another rumor suggests from February 14 Samsung delays the One Ui 7 update For its other phones for the Galaxy S25 Edge is released – potentially pushing the update back to April or May. Even worse, the long -lasting UI 7 release has probably put Samsung in a position where it may need to cancel the expected One UI 7.1 update.
Provided we do not see a public release from One Ui 7 before May, it will put Samsung seven months behind Android 15 -figure roll -out in October last year. It is a rough situation for all Samsung -smartphone owners, but it is especially bad for people with recently Samsung flagship Like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, etc.
A reminder of the Samsung of Old

How on earth did we come here? That’s what I’m trying to find out. In recent years, Samsung has been one of the best in the industry for timely Android updates.
One UI 6, for example, was officially released for the Galaxy S23 series October 30, 2023 – less than a month after Android 14 began the series 24 October 2022, after Android 13’s public launch August 15 of the same year.
One UI 7 is a much larger update than the two versions before it, so it makes sense that Samsung may need some extra time to get everything right. But it does not apologize for going from a release window of one to two-month release window to potentially a seven-month.

Not only has this created a bad look for Samsung today, but it has also developed memories from a version of the company I used to hate. While in recent years Samsung Forge saw in the future as one of the most reliable brands for timely updates, it wasn’t always so.
Let’s take a trip back to 2010. Justin Beiber Baby stuck in your head, you cry in a cinema watching Toy Story 3and you can’t stop playing Angry Birds. Good times. On December 6 of that year, Google released Android 2.3 Gingerbread as its last major Android upgrade.
Samsung quickly returns to the worst version of itself.
When did Samsung start rolling out the update to their devices? It wasn’t in December, that’s for sure. It wasn’t in January either, or even February. Samsung’s Android 2.3 upgrade did not start rolling out to users until May 16, 2011. Does it sound familiar with what is happening now?
Samsung had been on the right track for a while, delivering polished and timely Android updates that you could set your watch. But it all has changed with a Ui 7, and not for the better.
Samsung needs to get back on track

We cannot say with certainty what causes an UI 7’s infinite delays; Chances are we never know for sure. Whatever the problem is, there is something Samsung needs to ensure that it does not happen again when it is time for Android 16/One UI 8 update.
Although Android updates are not as critically important as in the 2010s, these things still mean. It is bad PR for Samsung, sets all the progress it has been made with Android updates in recent years, and is just a bad way to treat customers. It doesn’t help either One Ui 7 is an exciting update With many new pictures and features, but right now, it’s just the Galaxy S25 owners who get to experience it.
Samsung dug out of this hole before and has proven that it can get updates out quickly. Let’s just hope that this is a shock in the road instead of a sign of the new (old) norm.
