- A rumor claims that T-Mobile can soon make a tac audit of customer plans.
- The audit will check if the associated device’s TAC is authorized to be used on that plan.
- If there are deviations, the user can have their service disturbed.
T-Mobile Planning to start making sure you use the right device on the right level. A new reputation claims that the company is preparing to carry out a TAC audit of the type of allocation of customer plans.
As you may or do not know, each phone has a unique 15 digit number known as its international mobile equipment identity (IMEI). This number can be found in several places, such as Sim Fold, battery or even on the phone’s box. With this identifier, the network has everything it needs to know about your device, including device type, brand, model and color. On top of revealing the identity of your device, IMEI can also be used to confirm whether your device is compatible with the network and if authorized to be used with that plan.

If you are wondering how this relates to TAC, these are the first eight digits of an IMEI. It is used to identify the unit manufacturer and model. With TAC, T-Mobile can tell if you use an incorrect device on a plan and then shop. However, the UN carrier has not really gone down the route to enforce unit type and plan with TAC until now.
according to The mobile reportThis status quo may soon change. The outlet claims that an inside source within T-Mobile has told them that the company is getting ready to revise customer plans to ensure that each device’s TAC is authorized to be used with the plan it uses. So if a deviation is discovered, the user can have their service disturbed on that device. It is alleged that this audit will be done on a majority of, if not all, plans.
No information is available when this audit can start, but it is said that it can happen soon. The outlet says that the rumor points once in the 2nd quarter.
