  • New Releases of the iPhone 17 Pro suggest that Apple may not use a Pixel-Esque camera cabin for the next generation devices.
  • Instead, the phones can contain a much larger camera island that spans the width of the back panel.
  • Despite the larger camera island, Apple can stick to the same triangular camera setup as former iPhone models.

Although Apple is still months away from launching its next general iPhones, we have already begun to hear rumors of iPhone 17 -Series. Late last year we saw several reports suggesting that Apple would adopt a Pixel-esque camera tag design For the Pro models in the upcoming setup. However, a subsequent leak debunked this claim, stating that Apple would keep a triangular camera setup for its next generation devices. We now have a better idea of what the updated camera design may look like, thanks to a new leak.

In a recent videoFront Page Techs Jon Proser claims that the iPhone 17 Pro will have a wide camera that is not as thin as the camera lab we have seen on newer Google Pixel models. It can retain the same triangular camera setup as the predecessor, located in a much wider camera island that spans the entire device on the device.

iPhone 17 Pro Camera Island Render FPT

Unlike the previous renderings, which showed the iPhone 17 Pros triple camera setup arranged in a lean camera lab at the top of the device, the new design looks like a thicker version of the Nexus 6PS Camerbin on Xiaomis Mi 11 Ultra. It houses the triple camera layout in the left half, such as former iPhone models, but the LED flash, the back microphone and the lidar scanner are lined up vertically near the right edge of the camera island.

The wider camera island is darker than the rest of the phone, giving the iPhone 17 Pro a two-tone look. This falls in line with a separate reputation we have seen before. Proser claims that the new rendering is based on information from sources familiar with the iPhone 17 Pros Design, adding that he has seen the device himself. At the moment it is unclear whether this new Camera Island design is serving a functional purpose or whether it is purely aesthetic.

It is worth noting that processes do not have a fantastic track record when it comes to Apple rumors, so we cannot say for sure if the iPhone 17 Pro will end up with this Camera Island design. On top of that, we are still months away from the launch of the iPhone 17 series, and there is a chance that Apple can make further changes. We have to wait for more specific evidence to determine if Apple will go with this design or choose another camera setup completely.
