- Living caption allows you to easily add captions to any media you use on your phone, but so far captions have been forced to use a solid background.
- Google is currently in the middle of rolling out a new option that allows you to set a transparent background for captions.
- Right now it is only available on newer Pixel models, but will probably spread to other phones that support live caption.
Modern technology has completely transformed the availability of captions on the media we use. For a long time, the days when captions are something was a slow and manual process, and we have evolved from services that YouTube could automatically generate them, to our phones themselves creating captions using systems such as as a system as systems like systems Live caption. Last month, Google Live Caption provided a major functional upgrade with Expressive captionsAnd now captions get a little more processing through a smart interface -fine adjustment.
Maybe you are just a random caption reader, but others have some serious preferences when it comes to how their text on the screen is presented. Location, font, size, color – There are many options that affect how captions are delivered. And now Reddit -User Andyooo have discovered live captions on Android that pick up a new transparency option (via 9to5google).
This change is reportedly coming with Google’s Android System Intelligence v.17 update, which began hitting Pixel devices late last month. So far, it does not look like Google has made this update available for non-pixel-hand sets, or those on older versions of Android.
When this goes live on your phone, you will find a new “background transparency” that switches to live image text settings. Although we do not get any kind of good control over how opaque the background is, this is still a great upgrade to get for us who is a bit special about our captions.
