There have been many films and television series that explore the AI, the symptoms and identity, but we have rarely made such a unique version of those issues they provide Love meThe first feature film of the directors Andy and Sam Zuchero. The film premiered in Sundance last year, where he won the prestigious feature film Alfred P. Sloan, and is now receiving a theatrical premiere.

The film is established long after humans and all other ways of life have disappeared from Earth, leaving only remains of our global civilization. Kristen Stewart interprets one of those remains: a small yellow intelligent buoy that we first see on ice in a desolate landscape. The buoy has achieved a rudimentary sensitivity, sufficient to respond to the recorded message that is transmitted by a satellite in orbit (Steven Yeun) on the overload to detect any new way of life that may appear. Anxious to have a friend, even one that is basically a sophisticated space chatbot, the buoy studies the vast database online of humanity on the earth that provides the satellite. At home in the YouTube influencers Deja and Liam (also played by Stewart and Yeun), presenting the satellite as a way of life called me.
Over time, a lot of time, buoy and satellite (which now pass through IAM) “meet” in virtual space and face humanoid avatars. They become increasingly advanced in their conscience, exchange eccentric inspiring memes, recreate the “quotes” of youtubers and finally fall in love. But the course of true love does not always work without problems, even for the last sensitive beings on Earth, especially since I have not been honest with IAM about its true nature.
In its nucleus, Love me It is less pure science fiction and more a postpocalyptic love story about transformation. “We really wanted to make a movie that made everyone feel big and small at the same time,” Sam Zuchero told Ars. “So the time scale is gigantic, 13 billion years of the universe. But we wanted to make the love story in its nucleus feel fleeting and explosive, since the first love feels so often.”
