Samsung Galaxy S25Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra were released earlier this week, and the details of various features came on subsequent days, such as support for satellite connectivity. The latest devices of the South Korean technology conglomerate are able to install an update while the phone is running, reducing the time required to restart after an update. This feature was introduced with Android 7.1 and improved with the arrival of Android 11 by 2020.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series became the company’s first models to support perfect updates
According to an Android police reportThe Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+and Galaxy S25 Ultra These are the first smartphones of the Galaxy S series to arrive with support for perfect updates. Samsung is one of the last leading smartphone manufacturers to implement perfect updates support, which were first introduced by Google for almost a decade.
The company launched its first device with support for perfect updates last year, with the Samsung Galaxy A55 5g (Analysis). The three models on the Galaxy S25 line are the first models of the Galaxy S series that offer the same functionality.
In the report, Android expert Mishaal Rahman points out that Samsung has not introduced support for the oldest version of Google seamless updates (introduced with Android 7.1 in 2016) that uses an A/B partition, with two copies of System, as required more storage on a user’s device.

A/B updates allow the phone to install one update on another partition, while the phone is running (A) and restarts the updated partition (B). If the process fails, the phone boosts the previous partition and tries to install the update in B again.
Instead, Samsung used the non/b sewing update mechanism that was introduced five years ago with the arrival of Android 11. In fact, Google Pixel phones supported the modern version of perfect updates since they were revealed in 2020 .
Non-A/B sewing updates use less storage than the oldest A/B version and allow the phone to apply patches to a “compact” partitions that need to be updated. New corrections included in the update are pushed into the so -called instantaneous, instead of relying on two partitions, according to the report.
As a result of Samsung finally adding support for perfect updates to the Galaxy S25 series, customers will not have to spend a few minutes after each software update, awaiting the system restart and installs it – a process that usually takes a few minutes.
