Google launches Android Identity Verification feature for Samsung Galaxy S25 Series, Qualified Pixel Phones and More

Google It is bringing the Android Identity Verification feature to multiple smartphones. It is confirmed that it will initially be released on selected Pixel and Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Subsequently, it will be launched to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) Android operating systems. The Mountain View -based technology giant is also expanding its theft Protection safety feature for more qualified devices. This feature was first revealed in October 2025. According to the Google Blog publishAndroid’s latest identity verification feature is being launched for pixel smartphones running on Android 15 and Samsung Galaxy devices qualified for One UI 7 -based 15 based. Currently, the only Samsung phones running on One UI 7 are the smartphone series Galaxy S25 recently released. This includes the base Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Meanwhile, Google Pixel devices running Android 15 include pixel 6, pixel 7, pixel 8 and pixel 9 series as well as the Pixel fold device. Google has confirmed that the feature will eventually be extended to other models, including competing brands phones.

Google explains that the identity verification feature increases device safety with biometric authentication requirements to access critical accounts and device settings when users are outside their designated reliable locations. It is said to offer additional protection for Google and Samsung accounts on qualified devices. The feature allows users to define reliable locations to minimize the need for frequent authentication. Even if the PIN of a device is compromised, it is expected that this feature will protect against unauthorized access.

The blog post adds that the Theft Detection Lock feature is now fully deployed on Android 10 and on latest devices around the world. This feature uses on the device to detect possible theft attempts, such as when a device is forcibly taken while unlocked. The screen is automatically locked if suspicious activity is identified to avoid unauthorized access.
